Why We Publish Our Fees

Transparency is our primary product feature, not a marketing tactic.

The standard industry playbook

Most crypto cards operate on a model of hidden costs. You see an advertisement for zero fees and sign up. Then you fund your account. When you swipe your card for a $100 purchase, your account balance drops by $103. The issuer took a 3% cut through a spread markup. They converted your crypto at a worse rate than the market offered. This is how the industry has worked for years. Companies rely on the fact that you will not do the math on every transaction.

How hidden spreads drain your account

A spread is the difference between the buy and sell price of an asset. If bitcoin trades at $65,000, a card issuer might value your bitcoin at $63,050 when you make a purchase. That is a 3% spread. If you spend $2,000 a month on your card, you lose $60 to this hidden fee. Over a year, that equals $720. They do not report this on your monthly statement. It just looks like your crypto did not go as far as you expected. We think this is a broken model.

The TXBFI fee structure

We take a different approach. We publish our fee schedule directly on our homepage. When you swipe your TXBFI Visa card, you pay a flat 3% deposit fee on card load. There is no spread markup. We use the real-time spot price provided by our exchange partners. We also charge no monthly maintenance fees, no card issuance fees for the standard tier, and no inactivity fees. You know exactly what you pay before you swipe.

Why this model wins long term

We believe consumers are getting smarter. You have tools to track the exact value of your portfolio. You can spot a bad exchange rate. By publishing our fees, we force ourselves to stay competitive. If we raise prices, you will know immediately. Our transparent fee structure gives us enough revenue to maintain operations, fund our cashback program, and build new features. We do not need to trick you into paying for our overhead. Honest pricing builds trust. Trust keeps you using the card.
